ICAAP 11, Thailand

In November 2013, PWN+ members attended ICAAP 11, held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. Princey was part of two sessions at the Asia Pacific Village, on the 20th and 22nd of November. The sessions were organized in honor of the winners of the Red Ribbon Award.

In the first of these two sessions, Princey spoke at length about the past and the work of the organization. In the second, she spoke about the problems faced, the scope of work, and the future she envisions. Both the sessions brought together other winners from the region, and served as both a networking point and a knowledge and experience sharing forum.

Also, an e-poster was submitted by Madara Ranmuthugala to the conference, with her research findings.

Changes in 2014

The two drop-in centres that were in existence have now been brought together into one central location in Colombo 10, which allows members to reach key resources easily – the Infectious Diseases Hospital, the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for children, and the General Hospital are all within a few minutes’ distance using public transport, and some can also be reached on foot.
